I photograph maternity, children, and family sessions in Prague. My clients usually come by recommendation, or they are people whose wedding I have photographed. It’s always nice to hear that a family is starting! So we photograph maternity sessions, then family photos with the first child, the second child, and later photos for various birthdays and anniversaries. This is how I become a family’s “go-to” :-) photographer. These are always pleasant meetings, and I’m happy to witness their important life moments and capture them in beautiful family photographs.
Your family photos WILL NOT BE PUBLISHED: you can be sure that your family photos will not appear on my social media, my website, or elsewhere.
My usual delivery time for family photos is 1-2 weeks after the session. You won’t have to wait months for your family photos.
I do not strictly limit the number of family photos. I usually take several hundred shots, which I will clean up from test and duplicate images. Then I will prepare the best selection for you.
All photos from the family session come edited with standard adjustments (tilt, crop, brightness, contrast, color, sharpness). The level of retouching can be discussed, but for memorable family photos, I prefer to preserve the authentic appearance of people, without skin “ironing,” etc. If you choose a photo you want to print in a larger format (for example as a wall canvas), I will retouch it more carefully, because details are more noticeable in larger sizes.
All photos are delivered in digital form (standard JPG format). For your family photos, I prepare a online gallery for quick and easy sharing and downloading. You can simply share the link with friends, and they can view the photos without anyone needing to download or upload anything manually.
Printed photos, photo canvases, and photo books are arranged individually for an additional fee. I mainly focus on creating beautiful photo books with a professional, clean design.
In case of bad weather, we can photograph under an umbrella, or we can postpone the session. I use professional waterproof equipment, so no need to worry about me :-) it’s only about your comfort. Family photos in the rain can also be interesting and unique, just hide under an umbrella. If you prefer to reschedule, I won’t charge any fees.
Contrary to popular belief, harsh sunlight is usually harmful to the look of photos, especially during the day. Photos in direct sun are too contrasty, creating unflattering shadows in the eyes, etc. During the day, I usually try to shoot in the shade of buildings or trees to avoid direct sun. The most flattering light and creative possibilities come from clouds and overcast skies, which diffuse sunlight beautifully. So don’t wait for a sunny day—you’d miss a great opportunity.
The best time for family photos is when the sun is low on the horizon. Morning and evening offer the best light for photography. Every photographer knows the “golden hour,” when trees and subjects, including people, are beautifully modeled by side light and the light has warm golden tones. I recommend starting family sessions about 1.5 hours before sunset. In summer, the sun sets after 9 PM, so sessions can start even around 8 PM.
The style depends on your wishes. My clients usually choose relaxed, natural photos with a “candid” feel. It captures real moments of your life together.
I photograph children, families, and maternity sessions outdoors in nature; I do not use a studio. For me, a studio feels artificial and unnatural for family photos. We can shoot anywhere you like, even at your home. Most often, we choose one of Prague’s parks. There are many options, here are some for inspiration:

You might think: “We’re going to be photographed, so we need to act amazing, prepare mentally, pose in the best ways.” :-) Actually, that’s a common mistake.
